I worry about bleeding when any procedure is done. Im having cataract surgery on both eyes two weeks apart-9/10 and 9/24.

Id like to hear from anyone who’s had cataract surgery while on warfarin and living w APS.

Thank you

I've had cataract surgery on both eyes and had no problems at all. I'm on heparin & surgeon was not cocerned. Hope this will help.

I too have had cataract surgery and indeed due to have my second eye done later this week. There weren’t any problems due to APS and taking warfarin so hope this helps you.

Best wishes

Hi Loretta!

Ihave done cataract on both eyes with some months between the two operations.

When you asked I could not remember that I did something special with my INR and Warfarin so I just now phoned the hospital and asked. She said that there is no blood involved in that operation so they do nothing about INR and Warfarin.

That is my answer from Sweden and my Hematolgist knowing also about my operation.

I can also tell you that it was very easy but if you like they will give you a little tablet before the operation. I think they gave me a little one without asking me.

Good Luck Loretta!

Ty so much. What a relief to hear that all went well with your cataract surgery. I feel much better now. It was very kind of you to phone the hospital. I hope you have a wonderful day.

I continuously am grateful for this site.

You have had some excellent answers, and what lovely women helping you here!

I have no experience here, but I’m grateful to know the answer. I was surprised by the answer!

Loretta, always nice to hear from you.

Wishing you the very best, sounds like you will be looking forward to a relatively easy recovery and better vision soon!

Hello, not had this done, although I do have the beginnings of them in both eyes, however lots of people on here have had it done and can probably reassure you, wishing the best of luck, coming out the other side with your new eyes! MaryF
