Hi Y'all! Another one bites the dust!!! My Neurologist who's been wonderful has tried everything to help me with Migraine, but nothing working! My primary struck out on 2 meds for High BP! The first onenot only too expensive, but had interactions with many of my other meds! Luckily my sister Lynn was sleeping over that night wen I almost past out! The Neuro secretary called me today with message to see my heart doc to control my BP! The 2nd med cheap, but side effects not worth it! I'm still up at 2:30am in terrible tummy pain and know the diarrhea will come soon!!Hecsaid I may have a low grade Spinal Meningitis and was going to give me Spinal tap, but changed his mind! He doesn't know how to treat me so I'll twiddle my thumbs and wait the weekend out without BP meds! Why are we all so sensitive to meds! Is that part of the disease! Now Neurologist thinks my BP causing headache and I think once I get rid of headache BP will b ok??? I give up at this point! I'm sick of it all! I'm tired, very tired of fighting the system! I'll call my cardiologist tomorrow or rather today!!! I have Rheumatologist appt on March 7 so we shall see! After her, if she can't help me I'll just do my best to keep on Truckin!!! Do you think they cud be micro-clots??? Have a great weekend! Love and Health to all! Godspeed
Update on Migraine : Hi Y'all! Another... - Hughes Syndrome A...
Update on Migraine
HI, I know I have mentioned this before, but have you adequately looked at your Thyroid, and B12 etc, this is only a panel for guidance purposes.
medichecks.com/thyroid-func... If you are already on a medication for Thyroid issues such as Levo or Synthroid, I would also if me want to have my Reverse T3 looked at in addition to what is listed in the test.
When I did my first panel, years ago now, my D was good, but my B12, Ferritin, Folate and all thyroid testing indicated a serious problem, (despite my excellent diet and exercise regime). I currently have very bad migraines and infections as I am going through the menopause which is tricky, but previously my migraines apart from my mix of diseases, I have 6, including Hughes Syndrome/APS and Lupus, were made worse by these additional issues, not treated, in the main I am so very much better for dealing with all these things in detail.
Presumably your anticoagulation is being monitored well?

I know you have a lot going on, and the blood pressure issues alongside your autoimmune diseases, but it would be good to properly rule these things in or out, as both can worsen or cause nasty headaches, on top of the already difficult time you are having with your autoimmune disease(s)
Best wishes to you.

Yes Mary I have gotten thyroid tests! I recently asked my doctor to test me for Hashimotos! He refused! Nanny 23 insists I have thyroid problems, but can't seem to find doc here in USA to help me out! As you know The USA is in the Dark Ages with APS, Sjogrens, and all that stuff compared to the U.K.! I'm fed up with fighting?
Can you look for a private testing panel you can order yourself? In the USA, perhaps KellyInTexas might have an idea of a private company like the one above etc... Sorry it is difficult, same for us here, be sure to include the similar tests including for B12. MaryF
I'm sorry to hear u going thru "The Change." It's a tough time for us! I wound up with hysterectomy! I'm glad u got it taken care of! Thx for ur quick response! Godspeed
No probs, I just get on with, I have open access to a few clinics due to the severity of things at times, but I have great friends and great doctors so it makes all the difference, I hope your situation changes for you soon. I do understand have been in your position to a certain extent previously. MaryF
I’ve been telling her the same thing for 2 years. Her dr. Said thyroid normal. I asked what’s the numbers? She needs to get rid of him. He replaced a very good dr. She had. She won’t take vitamins cause it used sets her stomach. I have thyroid and know exactly what you’re saying. Feel so much better with vitamins and t-3. Thankyou so much for all your help
Oh boy - you are a real trooper and fighter
Keep going (as I'm sure you will)!
MaryF has given good advice, so no need for me to repeat.
You sound like you have a good team of doctor's around you, trying anything and everything - stay in there, they will find something to help, it will get better.
Sending a big hug xx
I'm sorry your issues continue. I myself have never had thyroid problems, but I do ascribe to the logic of looking for one common denominator rather than several issues. A thyroid problem would be such a common denominator. Have you added an endocrinologist to your doctor spectrum? -might be a way forward. Good luck!
