Several people on here have had them, however there is a risk of bleeding with tattoos and also piercings, I would not progress without the advice of your main consultant, preferably the one who prescribed your Warfarin. Mostly the advice seems to be no.

I would think if your on shots like fragmin it might be easier to do as you could work around the shot, but still that is a question for your provider.

I was told no and I'm on warfarin, I was told not by the GP and tattoo artist. The artist said it's someone foolish who would do any work on people on blood thinners.

The reason tattoo artists tell you not to take painkillers is the tattoo might not "heal" right. The ink could blend together and the final result might not look as intended if your blood is thinned.

I figure I'm exposed to enough possible alllergens and chemicals which my body may object to. I dont want to risk prompting my immone syystem to draw that sword like the cartoon character Pepe L ' Phew and say "En garde, world!"

I have a few tattoos including a warning one telling I am on blood thinner (uso anticoagulante) that I had it done a year ago (facebook.com/search/top/?q=... . Just did not take the medication the day before. It was all good. No problems afterwards.

Hi! I was in warfarin but wanted a tattoo. My Dr wouldn't write a letter ok-ing if as requested by the tattooist. I kept bugging her so she put me on xarelto! I've gone back 3 more times too with no problems with any! I waited till I was in my 50's and wish I'd have done it sooner! Good luck!
