Tingling/pins and needles in fingers, arms and back, grip weakness

Hi,

My partner is an avid gym user 5 days a week, for many years, eats clean and healthy and experiences a strange tingling sensation like pins and needles in his fingers, hands and sometimes lower arms at random points throughout the day even when he isn't training in the day/on weekends. He gets the same sensation at the same point right at the centre of his back - which he describes as lots of needles stabbing in a small spot and it's always right in the same place at random times in the day - made worse by movement.

He also feels like he has slight muscle weakness, almost like he can't grip tight like he has been able to do in the past.

He's had numerous blood tests which all came back fine, anybody else experienced anything similar?

Hi this is a f0rum f0r pe0p1e with Hughes Syndr0me/APS? D0 y0u 0r y0ur partner have a diagn0sis f0r this? His sympt0ms c0u1d be re1ated t0 B12 deficiency MaryF

Do you or your partner have APS/Hughes syndrome? That is what this group is for. Has he been tested for it? I'm not a doctor but it sounds like it could be a pinched nerve or arthritis in the spine. Both can cause tingling like that and especially if it is worse with movement. I have also had my beta blockers cause tingling like that as well as some migraine meds like topomax. I had to stop topomax because of pins and needles and working out always made it worse. Is he on any medications that could be causing it.
