Is it normal ?

Hello everybody

I have a question. Is it normal that I am missing full control on my toes of my left side. My last TIA was in my left side. Day by day I feel that I can not bend my toes.

Thanks

Hi again,

I know you are on Warfarin and that you started it a little over a month ago. Is your toe numb also when you touch it? I think you should show it to you Consultant. What number had your last INR? Is it stable already?

Best wishes from Kerstin in Stockholm

hello Krestin

it is not like numb (although I got that numbness feeling sometimes in my two feet when I sit too much without moving). this new feeling is like I can not bend my toes, I feel I need to bend it to feel relaxed but can not do this. i have to do it with my hand. not sure what is

my last INR was 2.7. and the Dr insists to keep it below 3. it is always around 2.5.

You do need to go and get that monitored! Please let us know how it goes, and be firm about it. MaryF

Thank you Mary.

I will , but everyone around me is saying just thank god this is nothing compared to others who after a stroke were left with more complicated side-effects. I feel like "ok fine but if it is just a side- effect and not like the beginning of something bad. I do not know.

Anything like this needs to be checked for lack of blood flow, as it can effect the bones in your feet/legs, please get it checked, are the people saying those things to you haematologists or rheumatologists? MaryF

oh really.

no they are relatives :(

but the first time I felt it I said it to my doctor (at that time) she was neurologist and she said do not worry. but now I really feel like it is a bothering feeling.

my next appointment with my rheumatologist is in 3 weeks.

Raise this issue then, regarding how much mobility, is it different temperature, is it affecting how you walk, is your INR ok etc etc etc. Just to rule anything out. MaryF

you mean temperature of my feet? yes it is always cold actually my two feet used to be cold all my life.

it does not affect my walk, thanks to god. sometimes when I come down the stairs my whole leg is shaking (but when I am tired, otherwise it is ok).

My INR is usually around 2.5 . I will check it tomorrow just to see if it is lowered. but the doctor does not want me to go beyond 3.

Hi again,

Better listen to what Mary says. She has a great knowledge of things.

I hope you have a Specialist of APS and if so he/she will understand that perhaps you need a higher INR. So many things with this illness is depending on a proper anticoagulation and for most of us on a higher number than an INR of 3.0. I have an INR of 3.2 - 3.8 but I had to talk to my Hematologist to get this high number which I need.

Please be firm with this. Hope the Doctor understands APS.

from the English major housewife from West Virginia here --could be an ongoing circulatory problem, or could be residual effects if a stroke which may have damaged muscles or nerves. If the former, more anticoagulative steps need taken; if the latter, you need to see a physical therapist who can help your toes get back on their feet again, 😄 ( sorry - couldnt resist using that pun metaphor.) But only your doctor can determine which, if either, is the issue at play here.

Go see ur doctor for years I couldn't feel my toes and they said its my back! Well I lost my leg due to poor medical care aroun Christmastime because docs were way too busy to deal with me! Went to emergency Room on Jan 1,2015 and it was too late! I was told by my doctor I had treatment by fly by night DICTOR at Christmastime! He yelled at me for going to him and asked me y I didn't come to him! My reply was Mr. Obama said u don't take my insurance! Dice I worke for 7 years in same hospital as him, he said he'd have seen me for free, but I am not the type to take advantage of anyone!!! Please get this checked ASAP!!! Does ur ankles swell at all???
