Sorry Gluten Free Pancakes better photo! Sorry! They were a healthy breakfast for me! I thought I'd only eat one and so good wound up eating two! My Hemotologist will be happy! Does not eating a lot affect you INR?

They look good!  Kerstin and also Lynn can give you good advice on Warfarin diet... ie steady INR etc.    MaryF

Hi Deb,

I eat Gluten but i notice that I do not feel so good after eating weat and some sorts of fat. So I eat nuts, avocado, salmon etc instead. Also fruits, olives, carrots, oats, beans, paprica, tomatoes.

As to green vegs they are full of K-vit so you can not eat one day a lot of them and the other day nothing. Especiallly broccoli, spenach and brusselsprouts. If I want my INR down in 15 hours I eat 10 brusselsprouts. Alkohol and wine change the INR. I always drink one glass of redwine with my dinner.

It is difficult to translate different foods into English so I stop here. Constancy in what you eat is the key!

Thank you so much Kerstin! I'm trying to be mostly Gluten Free now! I was for 3 weeks then had Pizza and went off for a bit and got sickly! Now I look at food and it just turns me off! I use to love to eat a good meal! Now I eat 3 bites of this or that gf and that all I can tolerate for now! Rice broth bananas and I tried gf pancakes and I'm going to try to bake some gf muffins! My Hemotologist said since I'm not eating correctly my INR's will b affected! I didn't realize how much! I just can't seem to eat much! I loose a few more pounds here and there! Some days I get hungry and eat pretty well, but not often enuf! So is that really true that INR is affected by not eating much! No appetite! Food sometimes actually sickens me! DK wat to do! Seeing my doc Monday with sis Lynn and it'll be a good visit with her there! My memory is getting worse and I don't tell anyone that, but it's becoming noticeable to Lynn & a couple of friends! Scarey! Thx for ur input Kerstin as always ur Awesome!

I too am gluten free and I absolutely love it. I have found that Costco carries many gluten free products and they taste so good it is better then the gluten products.  I also eat like Kerstien with clean foods. I am a vegetarian.though....I eat eggs and fish occasionally.  My hydration is on the clock daily as it is vital for blood diseases.

Hi Deb,

I can not figure out how you will manage to keep a constant INR. I do not know if you see your Specialist Dr Erkan (was it right)? If you can not test every week at the lab and not selftest it can be very difficult to stay stable. Then you must have another type of anticoagulation drug. Many here (Dave and APsnotFab) use Fragminshots once every day. Then they do not have to keep stable and always think of what they eat. More easy I guess.  Take it every day. I do not know about costs in the US for Fragminshots. Probably cost more than Warfarin.

What is important for you is to be anticoagulated in one way or another. You must have a serious talk with a Specialist about this.

Sorry for being so negative but this is a fight!  Wish you could feel better soon.
