Hi Sarah

We are not medical professionals on here, so we are unable to make a diagnosis for you and you should, therefore, go back to your Dr to discuss this.

However, there may be others on here who have experienced similar symptoms and can share their experiences with you.

I think most of us get pains in various places, however if it is the insides of your wrists that maybe could indicate carpel tunnel syndrome and this can be a sign of thyroid problems, just a thought. MaryF

Hi we can never give a diagnosis to others except advice & give our own experiences etc as Dave says we are not Docs.

I myself over the last few months have developed weak & often cracking wrists that are very painful at times!

A lot of my joints can be & I find it can worsen with the cold weather too?!

I take plaquinil.....it can help with the joints.

Hope this helps any?

Hi Sarah

Every so often I get very painful wrists, neck and knee joints. These attacks last for about a week and then disappear. However out of the three the neck is the biggest problem. In all three places the pain feels like it is coming from the joints and when it happens it is constant not short and sharp. Hope this info helps.

Ditto above advice re seeing your doc for a diagnosis -- but, a reminder: Autoimmune disorders tend to multiply -- if you have one, your chances of coming down with another rises. And rheumatoid arthritis is a fairly common autoimmune disease. However, autoimmune joint problems tend (but not always!) to be bilateral -- effecting both wrists, both ankles, both knees -- etc. So if your pain is in one wrist only, the more likely chance is carpel tunnel (my computer programmer husband had this.) And carpel tunnel, if diagnosed, can usually be managed well with a brace, light medication, and mindful use of the joint. Go see your doc. I had a lot of right wrist pain a year ago and I too suspected an onslaught of another autoimmune disorder. But it turned out to be - -- - the new (free) solitaire program I had installed on my Ipad! If I had trouble sleeping I would play solitaire in bed until the repetition made me sleepy. But I was holding my right wrist in a cramped position under the covers, and THAT is what was causing the pain. No more solitaire in bed -- problem solved!
