Is it safe to fly with Hughes Syndrome? I've had 2 strokes already and I'm on 75mg aspirin daily.

Thanks to Mary F on this site I have been pointed in the direction of Hughes Syndrome as my existing diagnosis is 'migrainous strokes' and prior to that I'd been diagnosed with Chronic Fatigue Syndrome. I have have been trying - in vain - to get in touch with my rheumatologist for some clarification about the lupus blood tests he did last year but getting no where. My immediate concern is of course that I may have clots that I'm unaware of and I'm about to get on a flight to France next week! Any thoughts would be helpful. x

Hi, my favorite flying tip is to get on last! Its not always possible to walk about, so make sure you can wiggle toes to keep circulation going. I recon a short flight is no worse than a long car journey- you won't be at altitude long, but could be immobile for a bit. Aside from stroke/dvt conserns, I like to ware a scarf to burry my head in as half the time AC drafts give me headaches- and you just don't need that paranoia. Also 2 people i know with autoimmune problems always pick up a virus ( I don't) in AC. Have a fun holiday!
