What do you guys think? I’ve had swollen tonsils for some time, headaches, night sweats and just wasn’t feeling well for several weeks. The possible exposure (unprotected sex back to back nights) was from a girl who I got in contact with she tested negative 4th generation at 52 and 80 days post her exposure. She doesn’t want to get further testing and says I’m bothering her at this point. I was diagnosed with chlamydia that she gave me. The girl mentioned that she was also diagnosed with Trichomoniasis, but my Trich result was negative! I still took the antibiotic Flygal. About a week following my possible exposure I had sexual intercourse with a different girl who developed a rash all over her body, she tested negative at 36 days. She believes that her rash came from the azithromycin for chlamydia and after taking Flygal for Trich. What are the chances of my result turning positive at this point??? I am extremely worried and upset. My doctor doesn’t believe Im hiv positive and doesn’t think I need further testing, but I don’t know. What do you guys think??????? How concerned should I be? What are the chances of my results turning positive ? Is it conclusive? I’m extremely depressed. I understand that the symptoms are not in my favor, but the test results, Especially between the 3 of us have been negative so far.
Please help. Any input would be appreciated.

Although the unprotected sex is a real world risk, you have tested negative with a 4th generation test at 82 days which will be conclusive.
Just an add on, you are responsible for your own sexual health, playing the blame game helps nobody..... learn from these episodes and practice safer sex.
Hi Denis , HIV tests are accurate and a negative result means you you are not infected . To acquire the disease you need to have unprotected sex with someone who is infected , and as you say the women have assured you they are negative , so it is unlikely you have picked up the infection .
What is far more likely is you have picked up another STI , some of which do produce the same symptoms you have .
Thank you Griffin, I appreciate the reply. I’ve also tested for Hep which came back negative. I did test positive also for HSV-1. Can that be a reasoning for these symptoms?
Also - all other STI testing is currently negative. Following treatment of antibiotics of Tich and chlamydia still felt not well. What other STI could it possibly be?
I had similar symptoms to you caused by syphilis , but a lot of infections cause these same types of reaction . I'm also HIV positive and Hep B , and I've had gonorrhoea too . As far as I can tell the HIV never caused any symptoms at all . Gonorrhoea has a very obvious pussy discharge , and hep. B over a long period of time caused loss of cognitive function , weight loss and a symptom I have not seen mentioned anywhere , belching .
Sorry , I'm not a medical expert , I can only go by personal experience . From what you have described it is unlikely that you have HIV , and much more likely you have some other illness , which may not be an STI at all .
I recently took another std panel tests all negative. Also took an RNA viral load negative. It has been 90+ days . Not sure what is going on because I still do not feel well. Do you think I should retest again ?
Hi Dennis , If all HIV tests for yourself and the people you have had sexual contact with have come back negative then you do not have HIV . Focusing on HIV is possibly preventing you from identifying the true reason you are ill . I'm afraid there is no way anyone on a forum like this can identify what your problem is . All I can suggest is that you may have picked up something like scarlet fever - or any other disease.
Dennis , Have you read Gopal's post on here ? His problem is similar to your own . It might be interesting for you to have a CD4 Tcell count done if your illness continues . Read his thread , it is interesting .
Thanks Griffon, I went to my doctor and tested for mono, tuberculosis. Restested for chlamydia and trich and did a WBC Blood test. Everything was Normal. I think I need to schedule with infectious disease and have them test me for everything. My primary doctor doesn’t know what to tell me anymore.
Hey griffon, I also want to mention that I received a positive covid antibody test result today. Could that possibly explain everything. I feel somewhat relieved
