I had protected sex last two months but I wasn’t sure if the condom broke because I didn’t notice anything like broken condom
After 3weeks of the sex I got a cold which started from having hoarseness (loss of voice) then after some days sore throat, runny nose, cough together with cracked lips and peeling lips, then sore tongue ,white patches in tongue or will I say oral thrush and muscle aches started and also noticed swollen lymph nodes but no fever since then ...All my body just changed to the extent I started having burning feelings on my body
Since then the sore throat is reoccurring and I have been having post nasal drip(production of phlegm ) till now
I went for hiv test and STI test after a month of exposure but it was negative but they said I should come after 3months which is almost here now
I’m so scared plss ,Ive always had Health issues before eg chronic sinusitis, anxiety etc since this year but I’ve not gotten this symptoms before
Up till now I’m still having reoccurrent cold and the oral thrush
Could it be Hiv

exact same symptoms like me.. some people are saying that this could be new disease which is unknown.. they are saying its chinese hiv like virus.. but nothing has been identified yet.. almost all of them have same symptoms.. in the beginning.
Hi Brandy , the symptoms you describe sound like some sort oral/ respiratory infection and not HIV . If your STI and HIV tests come back negative you do not have these infections . There are hundreds of other viral infections out there which could cause these symptoms and they are much easier to catch than HIV .
Yes , a definitive test is best done at 12 weeks , but HIV is not easy to catch and if you have been ill it is much more likely that you have caught some other infection .
The UK guidance is 45 days , it recently changed from 30 days for a fourth generation test, because that detected 95%+ infections, and the European guidelines said testing should cover 99%+ infections, so it has been lengthened to 45 days. If you used a condom correctly your chance should be extremely low if not zero.
Yes statistically the chance of the person being positive if heterosexual from the UK is extremely low. Then if one episode of vaginal sex, reduces the chance further. If using a condom then should be zero
