I got a risk exposure in late last december. From the next day, my genital area was really itchy (like scrab) then all my body (like something was running under my skin. It ended after a month.
At week 5, got a small rash on shoulders (red with a white head) only 3 days. Week 6, got 2 red (circle) macule on the toe (still here but very light) and one red mark on the right arm. Week 9, got one red macule with white head on the other arm. Week 10, started to pain under right armpit (no inflammation or redness) with 2 days where I got some kind of fever (feeling very hot, little sweaty body, for 3 minutes then the body came back to normal). Now week 11, I got little pain in my right groin yesterday, today seems to be ok.
I’m scared, and stressed like never as I am not in my country and I can not get tested here otherwise I will lost my job if the test comes +.
I live a nightmare for 3 months, can someone share some advises. Thanks in advance.
Hi Nick , The good news is that none of the symptoms you have described sound like HIV . There are lots of possible reasons for the issues you have , that could be anything from a common illnes to psychological problems . .
Regarding the timing and the types of symptoms it matched perfectly with a primo "as per Google" I might be in this bench of google readers which speculate unproven sickness.
Sorry for it, it’s just scary as I’m faraway from home and symptoms come one by one for the last 11 weeks. Rash + light fever + painful lymph nob (armpit, groin) reflect a perfect combo 🤦🏻♂️
Anyway, thanks for taking time by reading my message
Thanks , I wish I could help you more . Without a test it is impossible to rule out HIV , however by far the greatest probability is that there is some other cause for the symptoms you have .
Can you not visit a doctor and if necessary give a false name if there are no privacy laws in the country you are in ?
Nick , the only ( good ) thing I can say about HIV is that if you have to wait until you get home for testing it will not be as harmful as other diseases , because HIV is a very slow progressing disease . However it is more likely that there is something else causing your symptoms and really the sooner you get it looked at the better .
You haven't said what your risk exposure was - heterosexual or homosexual contact, type of sex you had, where the person was from etc . This would determine your basic risk of being exposed to HIV in the first place. People often vastly over estimate their risk.
Hi dear,Thanks for asking, it was with a sex worker in Asia (female) . Oral sex without protection and condom cracked during sex. I noticed it almost directly.
Since my last message, now I have weird rash which look like mosquito bite.
Got two circle on the left foot (one on toe and other one in the middle foot) after 2 days one big popped on my upper leg and this morning I noticed 2 new ones on my left hand (on side).
Really looks like a mosquito bite but it’s not.
No other symptoms actually. Never got a high fever for days...
Stress anxiety might or not be the caused, dunno really I’m so confused.
So your chance of acquiring HIV through oral sex is extremely low. If you were using a condom for it , even if it broke later on, reduces the risk further. Sex workers in Thailand are tested regularly. You can also get syphilis through oral sex, so when you do a test for stis , make sure this is included.
People often post here about symptoms and worried its a sign of HIV. The majority of people living with HIV have no symptoms whatsoever until late infection ( years ). Even with seroconversion, only 4/10 people have any symptoms whatsoever.
The answer is to test. If you are in a country like in the middle east, you can test privately under an assumed name. Deportation may only happen if the test is positive, not if you do a test.
I have done the test last Monday. Anyway if it’s positive I need to take of my self back home ... stress and anxiety are killing me slowly, enough !Just worried about this rash cz it starts popping after nearly 3 months exposure. Even if the local doctor is sure that all symptoms are due to anxiety.
Here 10 days because of the sample which are send abroad to test hepatitis. If syphilis or hiv comes +, I guess they will call me before the 10 days.
Did you hear about similar cases (regarding the rashes which comes out at nearly 3 months after exposure) ?
It worries me as the only things which can trigger after 3 months are hiv or syphilis (never got any chancre) or stress (only refer as hives which is different than my mosquito bite like) as per the worst doctor named google
