I've been indicated as having Brugada (no symptoms) and have managed without an ICD since diagnosis and am under the care of St Thomas' in London for the past 10years or more.
Recently went for an outpatients appt for a procedure on my shoulder and was informed the full procedure could not be done due to my Brugada and the risk with local anaesthetic.
I am aware of Brugadadrugs.org and the list (I supplied their standard letter) but was not aware I couldn't have ANYTHING under local anaesthetic. I know the lidocaine types need to be controlled to stop them travelling around the body (adreniline used I believe - when at dentist)
I will raise this with my consultant at my next appt but I am worried that any treatment needing a local will be prevented....?
Has anyone had similar experience?
Many thanks,
Guy
