Post ablation

2 weeks post ablation for SVT and my heart rate seems consistently slighter lower and no episodes so I am hopeful it has done the trick. Roll on my 3 month check up, long may this continue!

Congrats! I'm jealous a bit, as my svt couldn't be triggered during my ablation attempt in Feb. Glad to hear about your success, may it continue all your days, cheers!!

I’m in the same boat. Last ablation seemed to finally banish my afib, but they couldn’t trigger the tachycardia. So frustrating.

It's just a shame I've got covid now 🙄 thought I'd done too well avoiding it for this long!

Take care, keep hydrated and sleep when you can - i found this was the best remedy.

I am now 22 months post ablation and no more SVT, although I still find it hard to believe that it is definitely gone! Hope it's the same for you

Hi there, I'm really glad that ablation is working for you. Would you mind sharing your experience of the procedure and your recovery afterwards? For example, was it painful? How did your heart feel afterwards? Does it feel entirely normal or does it feel different in someway? I find that many people on this forum who have had successful ablations don't share their experience of the process. It would really help those of us who are contemplating having this procedure or just weighing up our options for the future. Thanks.

I can honestly say it was better than I expected. Some chest pain during the procedure but not unbearable. The site where the catheters went in was slightly bruised but healed really well and quickly. I have had some aching in my chest since but believe that to be related to my covid cough. No dodgy beats or ectopic. I would definitely recommend it as an option rather than medication and the associated side effects that I wanted to avoid.

That’s great news. Hope the healing has continued and the SVT stays away!
