Before seeing an electrophysiologist

I’ve got an appointment beginning of august to see an electrophysiologist for broad complex tachycardia, SVT, PAF. this is all after muscle damage from heart attack.

The letter says I’ll have 2 hours of tests before seeing any doctor. Anyone any ideas what these tests might be? Besides the obvious ECG.

thanks.

I would have thought an "echo" test, which looks at the physical structure of your heart's valves, volume, wall thickness and dozens of other things. It doesn't hurt at all and mine took about 20 minutes.

They might also wire you up and do a treadmill test.

Blood tests wouldn't be silly.

I know enough about the lump that the technician explained what he found - not very much, considering my age - but they can be a bit tight-lipped so as not to do the Doctor's job!

I would say watch youtubes etc to educate yourself before you go, but I'm a geeky sort of nerd, it IS complex and it might be easier to NOT go for the details ;) .

Good luck!
