So a quick back story. I am 30 years old. In October 2018 I was diagnosed with narrow complex tachycardia and Atrial Fibrillation from a wearing a monitor. A week later I went for an EP study however they couldn’t induce the arrhythmia they went ahead with cryoblation anyways but could ablate any areas.
I am on Bisoprolol 2.5mg but I’m still experiencing a lot of palpitations and ectopics and so tired and short of breath. My cardiologist has offered another EP study but I have opted for flecainide for now, we don’t want to go through it as it sounds unlikely they will trigger it again
Has anyone else experienced the EP study not picking it up?
Thankyou x

I have had two EP studies for ventricular tachycardia and it didn't pick it up either time. I was on beta blockers for years but the cardio didn't seem overly concerned so I went off them (I also hated being on them). I still get runs of beats and palpitations but I try not to worry about them now. Cardio said heart healthy so I am not going to worry about it anymore.
Thankyou for your reply. Yes I’m the same as you i try to ignore them I will leave any further studies and eventually try to come off meds and see how I get on.
Yes I spent over 20 years absolutely terrified of what was going on. I ended up on anxiety meds and was at the point I was scared to leave my house. I would sleep in my clothes at night because I thought it would be easier for me when I had to get up in the middle of the night to go to the hospital. I realize now how stupid it was that I was doing it. I am glad that I have finally let it go and not worry anymore about it. I still get scary episodes when I feel like something bad is going to happen but I seem to be able to talk myself down. If they have told you not to worry then don't. Don't end up ruining your life like I did.
You seem to have had a big struggle sorry to hear this.
I have a 9 month old baby so luckily that takes my mind of it a lot. I try to just stop them myself but most of all I don’t panic as I find it makes them worse.
Yes I had little ones when this all started as well so that even scared me more! As I say don't worry if they haven't cleared you. You will be fine :).
Glad I could help you feel a "bit" better. I just didn't believe it when the EP Doc told me over and over that I was fine. I wouldn't want anyone else to spend the time and energy that I did with my chronic worry about it :).
Yes I had an EP study about six years ago and although they threw everything at it they couldn’t trigger af or svt which I am known to have and am extremely symptomatic when it kicks in. I found it so frustrating that they tried all there was to try to set it off but my heart would not oblige.
Annoying as the slightest thing will set it off in the real world. Not been offered a further study. They were going to ablate whatever they found there and then so you can imagine the medics and my frustration.
Sorry you have had a similar experience. I remain on beta blocker and pill in the pocket rhythm control to help. Best wishes.
Yes, during an ablation For OSVT my EP could not elicit any trigger and went ahead with the procedure. It did not work and I ended With AF, treated with cardio version successfully.
I was to have an EP study and ablation in May but after pumping me full of drugs that didn’t induce my pvcs it was aborted . I’m upset and would love to try again but my ep seems reluctant.
Aw I know it’s disappointing, My EP keeps offering another one to me but he is the same saying he thinks it’s unlikely he will trigger it the 2nd time if he couldn’t the first time.
