Breathlessness

Hi all, I was wondering if anyone has had the same problems as my. I had a cardiac arrest back in June 2016, I mean, I actually died with it for so many minutes, causing more issues (blood not getting to major organs).

Anyway the staff did tremendous work on me & I survived with the aid of a Pacemaker ( the one with the defibrillator in) I think. All was going well until Christmas, it feels like I have been hit with a ton weight. All my energy has gone, I find it very hard to walk more than 20 yards before I need a rest. I can't stand up for long & bending down doing the cat litter is killing me.

I have been to the GP's numerous times they eventually sent me to the hospital A & E, which is another story in it self. Furthermore, I got to see my Cardiologist he explained my PM (pacemaker) was doing its job properly & set it to 90 beat per minute, instead of 80 beats. He also put my on DIGOXIN 25 mg to slow the heart rate down. Anyway after all this I am even worst I'm out of breathe all the time, I have got some appointments coming, the device clinic, copd nurse, diabetes clinic, heart failure nurse, to see what they're going to tell me. I was wondering if anyone has come across this breathelesness before, It can be a real pain & gets me down even more. I take a load of tablets Asprin , Bisoprolo, Carbosteine, Digoxin, Furosemide, Pantoprazole, Rivaroxoban, Ranitidine, Rampiril, Spironolactone, Thiamine hydrochloride & Vitamins B strong compound.

Regards Steve.....

Sorry to hear your trouble. You do seem to be on a pile of drugs, several of which have breathless ness as a side effect. When do you see the cardiologist again?perhaps ring his/her secretary and tell them whatyou are experiencing,it may bump you up the list. Perhaps keep a notebook record what happens, when, ready for appointment.

I wonder if breathning exercises might help extend your breath, breathing from the diaphragm etc.

Hope you get on ok

Dear Wilsond,

Thanks eve so much for your reply, I have never noticed that I had tablets with the breathlessness side affect. I will definitely tell my cardiologist, I see him in a few weeks time. Furthermore Wilsond, I do give my cardiologist & GPs a list of what medication I am on, so they all should know.

I just can't believe I'm getting worst instead of better. Well thanks again for your support & I'll let you know how I get on.......

Keep your chin up mate the AF beast is a stange one...think...This too shall pass....its often a mixture of timing medications effectively, the right ones, ones that dont play against each other,,,etc.Health professionals are falling over themselves in researching AF,so I was told as irs becoming such a widespread problem...so we may have good news on the horizon in terms of combating it.
