Genetic Osteoarthritis?

My younger sister is suffering from osteoarthritis in her hands, fingers beginning to deform, just like my mother who eventually died because of the pain of it [a stroke], my uncle her brother and my brother have had kneecap replacements, it does affect me I use magnesium oil spray on my knees after a shower every morning, a big relief! I presume a magnesium cream on her hands, would help [she enjoys washing dishes as a relief] and wears fingerless gloves on her hands, any specific suggestions much appreciated for her?

My mother got osteoarthritis in her hands when she was 40. Her hands were like claws in the end but the pain actually went away! She used to use pain killers from her GP and tried all sort of supplements from mussel gonads to Chinese herbs.

Thanks anyway piglette there does not seem to be any clear solution to this problem, pain killers are ALWAYS used for the effects of this, not the cause, I guess just more guesswork with more sorts of supplements and "mussel gonads to Chinese herbs" trying a cream recommended via a friend in my local Health shop🙄

My mother used Chinese herbs too. My father used to complain like mad about the smell when she was cooking them!

I suppose we should be grateful as we have a better selection of Chinese herbs readily available, fresh, cooked or packed with instructions?
