Has anybody had to take Cimetidine and Erythromycin at the same time. I’ve picked up an infection and have been prescribed these antibiotics but am concerned about any interaction with Cimetidine. Thankyou.

I ran an interaction check in ePocrates and came up with the following:

Monitor/Modify Tx

cimetidine +erythromycin

monitor ECG:combo may incr. erythromycin levels, risk of QT prolongation, cardiac arrhythmias, other adverse effects (hepatic metab. inhibited)

So there is some potential for the potentiation of the effects of erythromycin. This should have been taken into account in setting your dosage. Suggest you talk to your doc or pharmacist is you have further concerns. It is likely OK, but you do need to monitor for the know side effects.
