Polymorphisms informing drug therapy choices.

Genocept is an American company that markets a product that uses genetic profiles to guide qualified practitioners in the field of psychiatry in drug choices. Question: could this strategy be used in other disciplines like neurology to avoid rare but life altering drug reactions or syndromes?

Could a online purchase of a genetic profile from a company like 123andme be plugged in to an off the shelf database to do exactly the same thing? That in practice would allow any individual to from their home to guide their drug therapy decisions.
