How do you keep your avocados from going bad?

There are MANY methods for this, but since I’m not picky I just slice the brown layer off the top of my leftover avocados, which I keep in the fridge.

Any tips?

As Kitten-whiskers said above, lemon juice is a common method to stop fruits and veg from browning. It's used for apples in apple crumble/pie and other fruits, so perhaps might work on avocado? Might be worth some research.
