Sometimes I got carried away and ate bad pizza and spaghetti so itโ€™s time for my body realigned ๐Ÿ˜…

I usually make this drink Malva nut juice as a dietary beverage because of its cooling properties and as a febrifuge. I let the malva nuts soaked over night and then remove skin and seeds. I love to have with basil seeds and a little bit of rock sugar. Thatโ€™s my all day tasty drink ๐Ÿ˜‹๐Ÿค—โค๏ธ

FYI: According to traditional Chinese medicine, Malva nut is used as a coolant, for gastrointestinal disorders, and for soothing the throat. It can remove heat from the lung, cure sore throats, counteract toxicity, and moisten the bowels. Also, it is used as the prevention of pharyngitis, treatment of tussis and constipation. In Malaysia for treating fevers, phlegm, coughs and sore throats, respiratory conditions, and to improve general health.

That's really cool. How does it taste?

โ€ข in reply toKainan

๐Ÿค” It tastes like jello no flavor actually. When you add natural rock sugar will give sweetness. Or honey can be good too. ๐Ÿ‘

Kainan profile image
Kainanโ€ข in reply to

it looks like tea. That's good to give it a little sweetness

โ€ข in reply toKainan

You just gave me great idea. If I add green tea to it instead of water, it can be extra detox. ๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ‘

They say kale is one of the best ๐Ÿคขlol

โ€ข in reply toKainan

But it wonโ€™t mix well with this. I think it will be hard to drink it up. Hmmmm... Aloe Vera juice ๐Ÿ’ก๐Ÿ’ก๐Ÿ’กyes?๐Ÿ˜

โ€ข in reply toKainan

I do make juice out of kale and cucumber and celery and mixed with pineapple juice. It is delicious ๐Ÿ˜‹ ๐Ÿ‘

still sounds like I wouldn't like it lol.

Kainanโ€ข in reply to

that pineapple juice is not enough to overpower all those veggies ๐Ÿคฃ๐Ÿคฃ

โ€ข in reply toKainan

Actually pineapple juice is very strong flavor in my opinion and it helps your digestive system like whenever you feel bloated, eat pineapple or orange, it has digestive enzyme bromelain. ๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ‘

Kainan profile image
Kainanโ€ข in reply to

good point. Though I wouldn't have it on an empty stomach cause it's mad acidic

โ€ข in reply toKainan

Well you can have cucumber and celery all blended in so it wonโ€™t make your stomach too empty. Wait... are we talking about pineapple after a meal? How could your stomach be empty? ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚

Kainan profile image
Kainanโ€ข in reply to

no. yeah but people still might have acid reflux. I know I would particularly not having had anything to eat

โ€ข in reply toKainan

Well if you have acid reflux, you have to be careful ofc. Oh tomatoes are bad for acid reflux too, so as dairies, fatty n spicy stuffs

Kainan profile image
Kainanโ€ข in reply to

yeah just not for me in the morning which is I think the best time to have those health drinks to flush all that gunk out

โ€ข in reply toKainan

Well, my habit is when I wake up, I would drink lemon water to flush my system and then making my breakfast/brunch if I have time or just a power bar and go. ๐Ÿ˜… I wouldnโ€™t consume strong acidic stuffs for breakfast if you have a history of acid reflux/heartburn. It is better to be consumed throughout the day.

most mornings I just have some milk and I'm good to go.

โ€ข in reply toKainan

What kind of milk? I strongly recommend almond milk, plant based milk as it is healthy for you.

Kainan profile image
Kainanโ€ข in reply to

I drink lactaid. I had almond milk and I didn't like it at all. It's like I had to force myself to finish it off so I wouldn't have to look at it anymore

โ€ข in reply toKainan

Lactaid is just for lactose intolerant. Cowโ€™s milk has more saturated fat and calories. If you look at almond milk, calcium is added also. Itโ€™s a matter of taste for you I see. However, they have different flavor for almond milk also and once you get used to it, you should be fine. ๐Ÿ˜

๐Ÿ‘

Kainanโ€ข in reply to

I'm not lactose intolerant though. I'm just used to the taste. I always get the 1% and it's not that much. Some calories and fat is fine and is helpful

โ€ข in reply toKainan

Look at the chart again Kainan see how much sugar in 1 percent milk. Sugar addiction is bad for your brain ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚

Kainan profile image
Kainanโ€ข in reply to

I think my brain is doing just fine thank you ๐Ÿคฃ๐Ÿคฃ

โ€ข in reply toKainan

Well Kainan, you make your own judgement, you already know how sugar addiction effects on your health as well as slowing cognitive function and deficits in memory and attention.

Hi Koko, cows milk molecules are 200 times larger than human milk molecules so have to be broken down before it can be absorbed by our gut. Goats and sheep milk molecules are the same size as human milk and therefore much easier to digest as some people canโ€™t tolerate cows milk but are fine with goat or sheep milk.

My concern with commercial nut milk is the additives, like they add malt to rice milk.

As for added calcium this is usually calcium carbonate (chalk) whose molecules are 100,000 times larger than calcium from food and our bodies absorb very little so our kidneys have to work harder to remove the excess chalk.

Itโ€™s like everything we have be aware of what we are really consuming.

โ€ข in reply to

Hi Jerry, what you said are facts. Yes, goat and sheep milk is much easier to digest; however, my concern is saturated fat. Thereโ€™s 7g of saturated fat in 1 cup of goat milk and it can raise your LDL cholesterol which is a risk for heart disease and stroke. Calcium: we get from many sources such as: milk, cheese, bread, green leafy vegetables, seafood (with bones and shells). We need 700 mg per day. Yes it is true calcium carbonate added of which molecules are 100k times larger than calcium from food; however studies showed that all calcium salts absorb a few percentage around only 30 percents. It doesnโ€™t make any difference from whether calcium sources are calcium carbonate, calcium citrate, or calcium malate.

Your concern is what happened to the excess chalk that our kidneys have to filter those, it is true therefore we need to drink plenty of water throughout the day. Our body still needs the calcium that is Not absorbed for many other essential biological functions such as fighting toxins and lowering our blood pressure. It is not calcium absorption that we concern, the bone density is what we want to increase. Hence, we need other essential minerals and vitamins with calcium such as: vitD, K2, and magnesium.

We need to be aware of all plant based products also because they involve the soil quality, water quality and the air quality also. Thereโ€™s so many factors for us to be concern and we raise our awareness of food intakes, everything has to be in moderation and knowing all risks factors for our health.

โ€ข in reply to

Hey this is very interesting Koko as you are so right we should look at all aspects of things.

What we have ro do is find what works for us and I'm a coeliac and my body doesn't absorb fat very well so I tend to be lean, so I drink organic whole cows milk as I want the nutrients from whole milk. My body fat is 25% less than the minimum for my age group and my cholesterol levels are low with the LDL being less than half of HDL my Dr was impressed. ๐Ÿ˜‡

You are so right because at the end of the day we both agree that we need to be aware of what we are really eating and we should eat a healthy balanced diet for us and our needs so thank you for this information its well thought out.๐Ÿ˜Š

โ€ข in reply to

Yes Jerry, we have to raise our awareness in every aspects. Coeliac is something you have to cope with but I can see you are very conscious about health information. ๐Ÿ‘Œ๐Ÿ˜ Your LDL level is less than half of HDL is amazing, Iโ€™m impressed too. There are so many patients with high cholesterol these days that is like the norms which is scary to me. Iโ€™m glad I can contribute some of my knowledge to the community. ๐Ÿ˜Š๐Ÿ™

Hi Hidden this sounds like a very nice and healthy juice to try. I have never juiced celery do you have to peel it (remove the stringy bit)to get a smooth juice?

โ€ข in reply toNorthlondongirl

Hi Northlondongirl, you donโ€™t have to peel celeries, you can blend them all in as we can get more fibers drinking that way. ๐Ÿ˜

Yes, and please let me know how it goes. You can also use drainer to separate the pulp from the juice and can add some back in for fibers. ๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ‘

โ€ข in reply toZazenRiver345

Itโ€™s refreshing on a summer day for sure. ๐Ÿ˜… Hmmm.. ๐Ÿค” I feel very light and calm after drinking it all day ๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ‘

Hi Koko, itโ€™s great to see you posting on Healthy Eating. ๐Ÿ‘This is really interesting to me as Iโ€™ve never heard of Malvasia nuts and they do seem to have health benefits especially for our throat and gut so if you can make it taste real nice with rock sugar or honey even better.

As for needing to detox thatโ€™s the joy of youth and occasional over indulgence.

Jerry ๐Ÿ˜

โ€ข in reply to

Hi Jerry, yes Heathy Eating is such an interesting room that we can post food awareness and nature also. ๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ‘Thanx to Leah, she informed me about this community. Yes Malvasia nuts are amazing, I wonder if you can get from the UK ๐Ÿค” they are one of our natural remedies approach in healing our bodies in holistic way. I realized we need to detox very often, not only from food intakes but even the air, the water, everything all around us. Occasional indulgence is nice ๐Ÿ˜‚. I try to do everything in moderation as possible. Thank you for having me in this community and have a good rest of the day Jerry ๐Ÿ˜Š๐Ÿ™

Hi Celine yes I try probiotic, one product I like is Kefir probiotic yogurt drink which can heal stomach ulcer also in many cases.

Yes Iโ€™m here also Celine. We do need detoxification for our livers, our kidneys, our lungs too. Many things we have to be aware and taking into consideration. ๐Ÿ˜… Have a wonderful day in France Celine. ๐Ÿ˜Š๐Ÿ™๐ŸŒˆโ˜€๏ธ

Yes Celine that is a profound statement I always love, we need to detox our mind, our emotions, our body. Meditation is the solution for it. ๐Ÿ˜Š๐Ÿ™

Yes, gastric reflux, heartburns, all major concerns.

Thatโ€™s awesome.
