Hi and welcome to the group, Knittingwool . :-)

As Zest has said, we have a Topics section with lots of different types of meals/snacks you can take a look at anytime. Here's a sample of what other members had posted. Please see: healthunlocked.com/healthye...

I hope this helps! We also have badges for weight loss goals. If you would like a badge, please let us know anytime and we would be happy to assign it/them to you. :-)

Suggestions based on my experience, for what they are worth:

1) To feel healthier and start losing weight, increase the quantity of fresh vegetables and salads you eat, until they cover at least half you plate at every meal.

2) Cut out added sugar as far as you possibly can

3) Look carefully at all the different theories, and ways people are changing their diets, and see which ones give you a new way of eating that you can happily stick to long term, and which have proper evidence that they really work in the long term - not just standard advice! (As part of that, look at the discussion on the LCHF community on here)

You will find lots of friendly support, whichever direction you go in.

Hi Knittingwool well done for joining us and introducing your self and a warm welcome to our friendly community.

To lose weight you want to make the healthiest options that you can eating as much food cooked from scratch so there are no hidden calories and your food is packed with nutrition.

If you eat well and have adequate exercise you will really feel the benefits as many people are over fed and under nourished because of poor quality processed food.

So I would get your body well nourished and then you will enjoy exercise and the pounds will slip away.

Good luck and you’re in great company for all things healthy eating on here. 😊

Low carb, not Keto, not no-carb, but low carb. According to the American Diabetes Association, a low carb diet is any diet that is less than 150 grams of carbs per day. I try to stay right at 100, and no it is not easy, and it can be frustrating. I keep track on my Fitbit app. You could try 150 and see if you start to lose weight. I had to find the right number for me.

Not what you're looking for?
