Trying to garden

Hi everyone! I want to start a container garden and I was wondering if anyone had any resources for me? I’m not really sure what I’m doing, but I’d like to start being more sustainable as well as eating healthier!! :)

Hi there florapeace I buy herbs and tomatoes in pots and grow them in containers and I grow lettuce from seeds. So I'd sort your container out plus compost and consider buying some seeds to plant.

Growing your own produce is very rewarding and its quite easy so good luck. 🍅😊

This is my second year, growing veg, and it has gone reasonably well. If you find a big wooden container, do remember to line it with an empty compost bag (with a few holes for drainage). I've done beans, tomatoes, spinach, lettuce, peashoots from seed, and added courgettes, aubergine, cucumber & herbs bought as plugs from garden nursery. If anything goes wrong, it is usually because I haven't respected the proper sowing/growing time! (Look online for making your own garlic spray to keep slugs away. I found it really works.)

It's huge fun, hope you enjoy!

Good Morning Flora... l love herbs in pots... l wish you well with your project. I have moved many times and discovered if l found the right window for my plants they were happy. In the beginning l over watered or under watered but the plants always let me know... Granni B
