Home made gluten free bread home grown veg with local ๐Ÿ

Hi everyone,

Iโ€™ve noticed that since March my plastic waste has all but disappeared, I have the odd plastic carton raspberries have been in and I have so few I can put them in my neighbours recycling bin.

I have milk delivered in bottles and I realise that the bulk of my waste was the tetra milk packs when I was buying organic goats milk when I thought I was making a good choice. I was a bit disappointed as the milk deliveries all went perfectly and then he left me a note, it was a bill...โ˜น๏ธ

I buy fruit and veg in paper bags and this is all because of changing my shopping habits since COVID struck.

We are what we eat and I love local or home grown fresh organic fruit and veg with home baking. ๐Ÿ˜Š

The few plastic boxes we get are recycled as plant trays. Better depth.

Hi Hidden

Great that your plastic waste has all but disappeared. I noticed that they've started selling the blueberries in a paper carton now, instead of plastic, which is great. I try to buy my fruit and veg without packaging wherever possible.

Zest :-)

Thank you Zest I donโ€™t have the same selection from my local shops but I do like what they have. So good for you for cutting your waste and itโ€™s great blueberries being in a cardboard carton, strawberries and raspberries used to come like that. ๐Ÿ˜Š

Even better picked straight from the bushes, had a very profitable year foraging on our walks. Rose hips, blackberries, sloes, plums and just waiting for elderberries to ripen. Peas, beans, spinach in freezer, carrots, courgettes and kale being used fresh daily.

I agree as I've picked lots of blackberries, so good for you. ๐Ÿ˜Š

Oh wow Jerry, what an eco warrior you are, that's amazing that you rarely have any plastic now.๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘

Hey thanks Alicia it's been accidental so I wonder what I could achieve if I made a conscious effort. ๐Ÿ˜Š

You've done so well Jerry. Look what we could do if we all made an effort, supermarkets would have to get rid of plastic as there would be no-one buying the plastic wrapped produce.๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ˜Š
