Lansoprazole to Pantoprazole

My heart attack three months ago was followed three weeks later with a six week bout of extremely debilitating acute diarrhoea, the cause of which was eventually linked to Lansoprazole. I was advised by my cardiologist to stop taking this medication and am now, thankfully, free of the condition and am no longer in a position where I could have defecated for England, twenty four hours a day. I am left with some intermittent abdominal discomfort and my GP has now prescribed Pantoprazole as a gastric prevention while I am on dual anti-platelets. I would be grateful to receive details, positive or otherwise, from other members of our community who have had experience of taking this drug.

Lonsaprozole has exactly that effect on me too. Three times if not more different

GPs have prescribed it for me over the years. I've nowaskedtohave it added it to my notes that it has that effect on me.

I would rather suffer than take any PPI.

No I haven't sorry and that was your question.

I was just so pleased (maybe not the correct word to use) to see that it wasn't just me that the drug had that effect on.
