Home made bread

I, like so many others, have a bit of extra time on my hands at the moment 😉. Today I baked some bread for the first time in many years. It was topped with rosemary, oregano and salt. Delish!

Looks yummy. I get fed up with the kneading so use my bread maker but that looks like a proper artisan loaf.

It was a pretty simple recipe and I was pleased that mine looked like the picture in the recipe.

Hey Kaz you’ve excelled here as this looks perfect so well done you and enjoy. 😁

That looks really good. Will have a go at this at the weekend. Thanks.

Hi Kaz747, your homemade bread looks lovely! I can almost smell it 😉

Does it have to be cooked in a lidded pot on do you think it would work on a baking tray?

I used a stone casserole dish with a lid. When I took the lid off it was quite pale. The recipe says to cook for another 10 minutes without the lid but I left it about 15 minutes. You could always try a tray or a cake tin with foil over it.

Ah good idea I will try with foil on top 😊

Looks Yummy👍 I guess you’re some of the people who are taking all the eggs LOL Happy Easter🐣

Nah, I don’t buy eggs - a friend has chickens so I get them direct from her little hobby farm. Happy Easter 🐣 to you too!

Well that’s Cool, my daughter is going to have trouble getting eggs for my grandson for Easter. She’s seen brown eggs but you can’t dye brown eggs 🥚 🐣

I did add a little salt and a tablespoon of sugar as well (as mum always used to do this when she bakes bread when I was a kid).

Recipe?

And I added a little salt and sugar (which is what mum always had in it)

Somehow or other I missed this! That looks really yummy, I normally top mine with seeds if anything but I’m going to give herbs a try - I’ve got rosemary growing in the garden so that’s an easy one! I think that I might have a go at the flatbread on that site as well, it looks like a great accompaniment for Lamb kebabs!
