Hi - I'm new here. I think I posted in the wrong place, so I'm reposting here.
I would like some help in getting out of oversnack mode! I think it's emotional eating, and I really want to be more in control. I eat pretty healthy all day, but it's after dinner when I start to snack, and I'm eating way too much.
If anyone has anything that has helped you with a similar issue, I'd love to hear your thoughts.
I'm going to give this a try: My goal is to limit sweets to one serving after dinner. If I'm truly hungry after that, I can have a piece of fruit and a few almonds.
Do you all check in on each other here?
Thanks!

Hello again pkme I think that you're not sure which forum you are on. 😊
One thing I’ve noticed is that once I start eating the food that I have cravings for it’s much harder to stop. It’s hard to stop at just one or some limit. The other thing is to identify what the need for snacks are, what purpose are they serving. It’s some type of coping method.
Well done for setting out your aims!.. I think this is the start of a positive journey... to have some clear targets... and some ideas about how your going to get yourself closer to your target. I set my plan to reduce eating crisps during January (new year resolution)... I changed just 1 thing..
.( to stop buying the crisps) because if they are not in the house... I simply can’t eat them... I’m now in week 10... and I can honestly say that during January I ate NO crisps... and in the 10 week period.. I have exceeded my expectations as I really didn’t think I could achieve this goal?! It’s really spurred me in to my next challenge... reduce eating crisps and cake in March! So far... not done as well as the savoury snack reduction... but I’m still working on it... will give myself till end of March before I reflect on the ott Ry I and cons of this difficult change.
Thank you all so much for taking the time to reply. It means a lot. And no, Jerry, I don't think I quite know where I am here yet! 😜
Anyway, I did a little better - but not by much - tonight. I will commit to reporting in tommorow night. I think knowing someone is there will help. Thanks again!
I just wanted to check in and tell you that I had a really good day today - made healthy choices, and I even skipped the evening snacking! Thanks for being here!
