More Coronavirus advice.

Hi everyone none of us know what to expect with how the virus has affected some countries with Italy being in lock down.

As well as keeping our hands clean we need to ensure that the surfaces we touch in our homes are squeaky clean and I regularly wipe door handles taps light switches remote controls my keyboards with anti bacterial cleaner this helps to keep me and visitors safe.

This advice is echoed in this advice here:

cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-nc...

There is a really simple recipe for a home disinfectant by adding a cup of bleach to a gallon of water so it’s cheap and effective.

Just stay safe folks and be mindful of your actions.

Good reminder there, Jerry, about keeping surfaces clean.

If you're using alcohol, be careful. There were a few instances here of over-the-top cleaning, followed by a cigarette 😱 Make sure there's good ventilation and allow time for the alcohol cleaner to dry...let's not burn the house down.

Good personal hygiene will help keep you safe and reduce the chance of spreading the virus.

Hi Hidden hey great advice about the alcohol cleaners and I don't personally use them or smoke cigarette's.

Thanks for the extra advice. :)

Good advice Jerry. I'm also very clean and I do have a natural anti bacterial spray in the house that is plant based.

Good advice.

Thank you Alicia I think that the majority of us have good personal hygeine and it's awareness of what we as individuals can do to protect one another. And keeping surfaces that are touched is something that I do to keep me safe anyway as I don't like germs.

I went in my local supermarket and was pleased that no one had been panic buying raspberries but the staff were bemused as there had been a run on toliet paper and there was one customer and he'd cleared the shelves of 6 packs of baked beans it looked so funny in their trolley.

I'm sure that your home is squeaky clean and smells wonderful as you use plant based cleaners. :)

I do mostly but one area I lack in is the keyboard, I used to clean my keyboard every day in work but hardly touch the one at home so that is something I must do. Other than the keyboard my work surfaces, floors etc are always clean.

We have a cat so if he goes on the window sill I clean it and when my bread dough is rising on the window sill then I clean it thoroughly.

I went to the supermarket recently I saw at least 3 people sneezing into their hands than taking food off the shelf and placing it back again. One sneezed all over the self checkout terminal.

In Spain it’s custom and practice to use a disposable glove when handling the fresh fruit and veg (dispensers always next to the roll of bags). I’m in two minds as to whether this should be adopted in the U.K. because it’s good hygiene but on the other (gloved) hand, it’s more plastic bad for the environment!

Which plant based spray do you buy?

Would you believe it's a Wilkinson's own brand in the UK, here's the link to the one I have:

I leave my dish cloth and dish brush in soak with bleach overnight and then wipe down all kitchen surfaces with solution first job every morning. Bathroom is clean every morning after we have both used, I use a Dettol spray. Special attention to door handles both inside and outside. We have hand sanitizer in the car, pockets and bags and at door entrances. Take every opportunity to use hand wash facilities whenever we are out.

It worries me now but I have been concerned just how many people do not wash their hands after visiting public toilets.

We are still swimming and using the gym but wipe all equipment before and after use with sanitizer. Think there is enough chemical in pool to kill most germs. Easy become nureurutic but safety first.

I have an out patient appointment next week but wonder if I should be going. I am going to call the hospital and ask.

When is the appointment? Are you allowed to reschedule last minute/cancel?

I have spoken to the hospital and they say that all going ahead as normal. We will be asked screening questions and I was told not to go if we have been in high risk areas or feeling not well.

That's a good mixture, I do like tea tree oil.

Hi Hidden this ius excellent advice but I'd be craeful saying ''You will never get any infection, cold or flu.'' and I'd prefer better protected against infections.

You have made some great points here.

Jerry. 😊

I have been reading scientific reports about this virus. Probably too many. The reason why so many people over 60 die from the virus is that as you get older your organs lose efficiency, someone over 90 will only have a kidney function of 60%. This virus has something, as yet not known, that attacks internal organs.

When an elderly person contracts the virus and they already have less efficient organs the body cant cope and you go into toxic shock. Therefore it is not necessarily the pneumonia that kills you.

Therefore I intend to avoid this like the plague.

Well good for you Hidden and I wasn't criticisng you as I'm sure the caster oil stops germs and know that turmeic improves our immune system. 😊
