I binge ate tonight after a remission of 1.5 years. I am not happy with what happened, but here is a breakdown of emotions which triggered it off -
- shame
- humiliation
- abandonment
- disgust
- rage
- anger
- worthlessness
- helplessness
- hopelessness
- helplessness
I am admitting that this is a difficult experience of self-harm which I had, and would appreciate your support.

Well done for coming here and talking it over.
We all slip up from time to time so don't beat yourself up over it as its now in the past. Tomorrow is a new day.
Well done for identifying your triggers. One idea of mine is about writing things down when you get the urge to eat as I find myself it's boredom and anger that drive me to want to eat when I'm not physically hungry.
Yes you slipped up but it's not the end of the world as we all make mistakes.

Hello becominghuman I feel for you as I know others do and one slip up after 18 months I think that you are being much too hard on your self.
I think one good way of dealing with situations where we lack confidence is to imagine we are doing something we feel confident with so we approach the problem in a positive mental state.
I admire you for being so open so welcome to our forum as you are not alone in your suffering and we are an eclectic mix of foodies who support each other.
I agree with Hidden and think a mood food diary could be very beneficial to you.
I too struggle with binge eating... being able to keep yourself from that for 1.5 years is an amazing accomplishment but do not let this one day affect your project. Start fresh and try to identify triggers.
