I want to purchase saffron ,not powdered form with other ingredients..i have DRY AMD and need nutrients specifically to try to slow progression of this blindness disease. im on AREDS2 supplements and want to add saffron as an extra thing.,theres loads saffron products on the market,sadly the saffron content is minimal. Can anyone help please

Unfortunately Saffron is pretty expensive, so it's hard to get products that contain large amounts of it.

If you want saffron that hasn't been processed, you'll find it in the supermarket.

Yes I'm in the uk.thanks for your response. There is a canadian company that does eye nutrician including saffron as one of the ingredients. I'm on AREDS2 as that's been clinically?? Tested to slow down the disease and saffron has such a good write up I thought I would add to the AREDS2. Many thanks for responding..

In the UK, you can buy in most supermarkets - Sainsbury's, Tesco etc. I think it's about £3 for a jar, but it's a very small quantity (it's expensive due to the way it's harvested).

I'd be inclined to go via a supermarket, there is quite a black market in fake saffron due to the cost of it, and I'd generally hope that a supermarket is doing at least some checks to make sure their stuff is real (they don't have the best track record admittedly).
