The road to Recovery

So, after not smoking for around 6 mths now I have found once again that I have a huge hunger, which is a side effect of not smoking, but I am determined not to give in and stay on the healthy trek that I am on. I have cut down my portion sizes extremely to about a half of my usual intake. Watching everything I eat now to enhance my recovery and my inner health. Now to get my butt moving onto re-starting some physical training again.

Well done for cutting out smoking! That's an amazing achievement!

I know lots of people gain weight when they quit - a lot say it's because they need something to do with their hands, Because eating replaces the habit of putting your hand to your mouth? You are doing well to have cut back on portion sizes, so it might help to have some healthy low calorie snacks available (e.g. carrot sticks) if you do need to keep your hands occupied.

Good luck!

Quitting smoking is THE most important change we can make to improve our health and lengthen our lives, so very Well Done!!

And most of us ex smokers found that our increased appetite was temporary.😊
