Photo: Showing how my jeans are just all wrinkles and very loose. Also showing how I am eating omelettes for breakfast, and my new Hoka One (Torrent) Shoes - Time to start walking, hiking, and trail running!

I can’t believe how fast I’m losing weight and it feels like I’m barely trying.

My jeans are so loose on me they look ridiculous!

I am sitting here at work and the material is just bunching up all around my tummy and hips. My pants keep falling down, and my once very tight t-shirt is now loose!

This morning I snacked on cubes of Colby jack cheese, roasted almonds and cubes of diced up turkey breast.

I have zero sugar cravings since cutting out sugar and most carbs. I say most because I do eat carbs when I eat vegetables. And some dairy has carbs (surprisingly).

But I’m enjoying my meals so much!

My norm for breakfast are omelettes with 2-3 eggs, spinach, bacon, mushrooms, tomatoes, onions, cilantro with sour cream, hot sauce and avocado.

No potatoes, no toast.

But I do have: Coffee with half n half

I started 2 months ago introducing intermittent fasting. And eating more like Low-Carb and High-Fat to reverse Type 2 Diabetes and so far so good!

I was 220 lbs and now 193 lbs and goal weight is 145 lbs.

Ideally I’d really love to be 130lbs...

But for now 145 lbs is the goal.

I went out and bought a new pair of Hoka One (Ho-Kha O-Nay) shoes for trail running.

Last night for dinner I ate BBQ (dry rub) pork ribs and Skewered Veggies (onions, zucchini, red, orange, green, yellow bell peppers).

I snack on Brie cheese, celery, cucumbers, green olives, nuts, berries, sprouts, lettuce wrapped around mint leaves and cooked meats, dipped in fish sauce (Nuoc Mam-Vietnamese fish sauce).

Yum! Yum! Yum!

So far! So good!

Hi WM, we're proud of you as you are doing so well and setting a great example by showing what can be done and to ward of type 2 diabetes. But the best bit is how you feel, as you feel great and you feel great about yourself so how good is this. 😊

It's great, but I think I might have eaten too many raspberries.... I ate a big handful and now I feel yuck. I swear, it's so good to know how I feel when I eat sugar, it's really different than not eating sugar. I feel so good when I don't eat sugar, and so bad when I do. To think that for years I was feeling bad all the time and had no idea it was due to sugar, just had no clue at all. Just thought I was feeling lazy, tired, and yucky. Always ran to sugar as a "pick me up" but now I realize it's sugar causing it. I am finding blueberries don't do this to me, but then I have been eating smaller handfuls.

They are so good! And, they don't make me feel yucky.

This is very interesting about sugar WM, this is interesting what you say about sugar and I wonder about caffeine giving us a kick then leading to a low.

I hope a month from now to report that I'm in the low 180's or high 170's... *fingers crossed*

Well done, ‘eating fat to lose fat ‘. is so effective but still seems counterintuitive.

Yeah, it does seem counter intuitive. I agree, but for some reason it's working. I never would have believed it either!

What's your IF schedule?

I also have had unbelievable success with very low carb and fasting...to the point where I am below my target weight now and only do it to stay healthy. It's hard to convince people sometimes how well and easily this works. Here's a great podcast, if you want some of the science behind it: peterattiamd.com/jasonfung/

Well, I'm not strict with it. Some days I do a 16 hour fast and an 8 hour eating window, and some times I don't fast, and just eat when I feel hungry, and then other days I binge fast (I call it) where I go 24 hours without eating, and only eat dinner, and when I do that, I do that for 3 days straight. It kind of depends on my cycle too. There are days right before my period starts that I can't fast, I just need to eat, and I feel like it's hormonal, but then after I am fine and can fast again.

I guess I don't have a routine other than to say I do fast every week, and I mix it up depending on how I feel.

Oh, that's me too. I actually have read that it's good to shake it up. Some days I have nothing but fat (coffee blended w ghee and MCT oil) and I kinda call that a fast too, since apparently insulin doesn't get triggered. It's like a cheat, because it's easy.

I am in the grip of a sugar addiction. How did you manage to get off it? Did you get withdrawals? Did you get help from anywhere? Well done for the changes you have made
