Aralia Spinosa also called devils walking stick because of the spines covering the trunk of this small tree, grows in my garden & I’ve read that the young leaves, shoots & berries are edible, so going to give them a try next spring, just wondered if anyone else has tried them.
It is related to the elder berry & suppose to be good for depression, which I don’t have lol

I read that the berries are mildly poisonous.. some of the plant may be used to treat things like boils..
going by what I see, there's a lot of trees that you can eat the leaves when there young..i/my wife have 3 different varieties of them growing in the garden..all of them taste extremely bitter to me and would not touch them again..but some people like them..
Weird,I read you could eat the ripe berrie but not unripe, it is related to the elderberry & I’ve made some excellent wine from them. So you have 3 different varieties of the devils walking stick ?
when I saw the berries I thought they were elderberry.. I didn't save the link that said the berries were mildly poisonous...it actually said uncooked/raw were mildly poisonous.
the trees I have in my garden are not related to your post... they don't have thorns..I don't know the names in English but I will find out and read up on them..we going out now to the beach for the day.
