Spider Lilly, Florida native, should have a scent

in reply to Nugger

I use to live in China for a couple of years and this plant was very popular..I seen it growing in a lot of places..

this plant was in the garden when I moved here 5 years ago and I still didn't know its name until you told me..yes it does have a mild scent. I love the way it has its orange pollen on the end of stem. looks like a fish on a fishing rod.

The plumeria you put up the other day is a favorite of mine, I just bought 27 of them!

in reply to Nugger

27...that's a lot, they are also a favourite of mine and have 8 of different colour varieties, I would have more if I had the room for them.

maybe you can post a picture of them when there in flower.

There all in pots but two are large, so maybe they might flower this year, I have heliconias flowering at the moment, the colours are so strong, they don’t look real

in reply to Nugger

I will look back in your posts.. I have planted many different types of heliconias and none have been successful in my garden so I end up taking them out..and I've given up on them.

am just going out to they flower market to see if they still got something I saw yesterday but had no money on me to buy it.

Dear 'Shouldfeelbetterbynow',

What a beautiful plant!πŸ˜ƒ It DOES look like a 'Lilly', of some kind, could be Native to Florida. I don't know it, here in England, though we DO have Lilies of various kinds. The Tiger Lilly is quite common, mainly Ornamental and probably NOT native, as is the Peace Lilly- that grows VERY well indoors. I remember planting a Lilly, of some kind, in a large pot once. Three Blooms, the first year, two the second, one for a couple of years then a Cold Winter...end of my Lilly😒 Anyway enjoy Your Lilly, whatever sort it isπŸ‘.

Kindest wishes
