Hi, I'm new here, & I live in Australia, do you have any yummy recipes, or new ideas for food that do not contain meat? I will eat seafood, on occasion, I never eat red meat. I love animals far too much to eat them.
Thank you!
Love & Hugs!

Hi Donna and well done for joining us and you’re in good company on here for all things healthy eating, we have a vegetarian “Topic” and a vegan one so you will find lots of healthy recipes on there.
I read that around 2500 sheep died of heat stress on their way from Australia to the Middle East last year and the public outrage sparked a huge rise in vegan and vegetarian diets.
I hope that you enjoy being a member of our community.
My standard breakfast is porridge, a very large bowl that gives me great energy well paced throughout the morning. I add some fresh fruit such as blueberries and ground chia/hemp/flax seeds which give my brain a much needed boost. My porridge also has turmeric and black pepper as powerful anti-inflammatory effects. Normally I make mine with water, today I had some unsweetened almond milk as a very rare change.
Lunch is perhaps a two-pint smoothie with fruit and dark leaf greens.
Dinner is water, onions, lentils, chick peas, root veg, dark greens such as cruciferous veg, spinach with a lemon. Flavoured with garlic, cumin, coriander, turmeric and black pepper. Sometimes I add quinua which provides a beautiful texture as well as more protein. Other times I might add some chopped dried fruit for added interest. If you are addicted to salt then add some tamari sauce.
For a hot drink I have green teas or miso with seaweed.
Plenty of satiating and healthful quality complex carbs that I stuff myself with daily. Since I started this way of living Easter 2015 it is the first time in my 65 year life that my weight has dropped off as I get closer to my BMI. It does this slowly and naturally with absolutely no effort.
