If you post this on c25k you will get lots of replies I have been running for about 18 months and didn't particularly need to lose weight. I wanted to combat the post menopausal spread. So I graduated c25k in July 2017 and continue to run (slowly) 3 times a week (when I can) and have lost very little weight but have dropped two sizes in my jeans and feel much more toned and strong.
Many who complete c25k also follow a healthy diet or calorie deficit diet and report great results, especially as runs get longer.
The c25k forum is a really friendly and supportive place and you will find lots of new virtual running pals over there. So drop in over there @orangecakerock
I am also doing slimming world and have lost 2 stone so far. I have just completed week 2 of c25k. My weight loss seems to have slowed down a little but I think that's ok as still steadily coming off.
I did c25k alongside weightwatchers many years ago and it definitely helped me lose weight (5st) and keep it off. I engaged fully with the weightloss plan, no alcohol, minimal processed food, and if I needed snacks after running ( you will get hungry as you get onto longer runs) then I ate only wholefood healthy choices, such as homemade cereal bars etc. I also did other exercise, strength training with weights, swimming a hillwalking/scrambling. I am just re-doing c25k ( I'm on week 7) because the running dropped off when my Mum was very ill, and then sadly passed away. ( life events have a way of derailing you sometimes), though I managed to keep up with the other exercises.. I don't know the sw plan but have heard people comment that portion control can be an issue so bear in mind that all food has calories even the ones they call free or zero. Good luck with running and the weightloss. The c25k forums on this site are loaded with info and support so maybe take a look there.
Oops just realised this is an old thread, not sure how that happened.
