Fried green tomatoes

I was out to lunch today and had fried green tomatoes. They looked just like these, it came with jalapeño ranch dressing. I took half of the crust off for lower carb.

I also had a salad.

Flour and cornmeal mixed together, the tomatoes dipped first in a thin milk egg batter,

Coarse and fine yellow cornmeal is widely available in ethnic shops rather than the big supermarkets here in the U.K. 😊

I would choose fine cornmeal over coarse.

If I’m lucky and get any tomatoes on my plants I have to pick them green before Mr. Squirrel gets them. A lady down the street from me sells her green tomatoes.
