Hi Natty31

The best meal plan is just 3 meals a day or even 2.5 meal a day

Eating frequently will keep raising Insulin levels

Insulin is a fat storing hormone & will ensure that the fat is kept stored.

The best way is to reduce all sugars & refined products

Reduce all packages stuff

Take fresh and home cooked foods

Fresh fruits , veggies, eggs, fish , meat etc

Have healthy fats like butter, avocado , olive oil etc

sufficient class 1 proteins

Some fermented foods

All the best.

I think, search the NHS website or go to a GP and ask. They are reliable sources of information regarding diets. A lot of dietary information at the moment, even ones in books, and a lot of YouTubers and Health Bloggers endorse lifestyles that are not based on scientific facts. It is easy to become misled.

Good luck!

I'd record what you are eating first with something like My Fitness Pal, it will give you some perspective.

You are going to have to research and experiment for a bit because what works for you could work different for others. It really is a personal thing.

Also, take everything you read as advice and not fact. That goes for the NHS sites too, it can be very generalised when it comes to dietary information, but is a good place to start from.

People are going to tell you certain things are wrong (like eating little and often raises insulin levels - can be true - but once I started to exercise, this was the best way for ME to go and I can't argue with the results).

Start slow and keep at it; Progress not Perfection.

Best of Luck.

What's been said is really true. Eating more often is going to give you less of an insulin spike, which is beneficial to you. I would say 3 meals and a couple snacks is a good start, but more important is how much food you're consuming in those three meals. To be losing weight, you have to be at a calorie deficit, but still above your basal metabolic rate (how much your body burns if you lay in bed all day). Haha. It's a sweet spot, and that's when you'll lose fat without lots of muscle. There are plans out there that do the math for you. One that's new and pretty inexpensive is Meal Prepping Warrior. The girl who is doing it is a health coach.
