Anyone struggling with Emetophobia?

Would love to hear how you’re coping with it?

Hi Siraa ,

There have been a few other posts about Emetophobia, but I think they have mainly been in the 'Anxiety Support community' - you could have a look through the answers there, whilst awaiting any further replies, as they might be helpful:

p.s. A link to the 'Anxiety support community' is here:

Have you tried using sea sickness travel bands? They work for any type of nausea.

I’ve never tried anything for the nausea. And my doctor doesn’t want to prescribe anything for it either.

Thank you so much for the tip 😊

You're welcome!

Acupressure is free & easy! Here's a diagram to show where to press: exploreim.ucla.edu/self-car...

The bands cost around £5, if you need your hands free. They actually cured me of travel sickness. :)

Wow! So much information 😊 I appreciate it all. Thank youuuuu!

HI Siraa

Someone has kindly brought my attention to your post as I am really struggling with Emetophobia at the moment. I purchased a book on the Thrive Programme as the reviews were really good and you can view the videos of those cured online. I can see that this programme works but I really need to have an expert working through this with me as I have tried to follow it on my own (I completed the book and started to go back through it again as this is what you are meant to do) and did the exercises but I find it difficult without the support of someone. The link is below:

I now have an appointment with a Therapist (not one from the Programme) on 6 April in a clinic near where I live. The appointment is for CBT.

I'm now going to look at the Anxiety support community that Zest has kindly provided.

Also, re nausea, I take travel sick tablets and they work really well for me but see that BadHare has suggested the bands which is great as it's all natural and doesn't involve any medication.

All the very best to you.

:)

I've just sent a pair of bands to a friend who is about to start chemotherapty. They work for morning sickness & any type of nausea, thought pressing the acupuncture point I mentioned in the link above, is a great quick fix! :)

Thank you so much BadHare and I will certainly get some and keep them in the cupboard for when I feel nauseous.
