Look at trying to improve your gut health, too. I've posted info on pre & probiotics, & the benefits of kefir. A happy gut can help reduce the impact of lots of health issues, especially in relation to our hormones. Avoiding foods like artificial sweeteners & bad fats are also important in reducing bad gut bacteria.

Both the above doctors' websites are pro-paleo & high fat/low carb. I'm not diabetic, though find eating this way helps my hypothyroid issues. I'm veggie, so get my high fat from nuts & seeds, & whatever fat my wholemilk fed kefir hasn't eaten.

Some foods cause insulin spikes, so perhaps look up information regarding resistant starch, which is filling & acts as a prebiotic. Potatoes are one common food causing this, but eaten after cooling for several hours, the starch becomes indigestible to us, but great for feeding our gut bacteria. I'll look for past posts on this, too.

If there's anything confusing, please let me know.

My house is very different. My daughter is a vegetarian, I have IBS and my husband recently got diagnosed as type 2 diabetes. I've got my work cut out for me lol.

You poor lamb!

There was a telly programme I saw a link for on HU, a few months back. Someone else might remember which programme it was, though all I can recall is that it was about a family trying to juggle different health & food issues, I'm sure including diabetes & coeliac.

This is it: bbc.co.uk/programmes/b098smnx though it's unavailable on BBCi. Maybe try YouTube as there's clips of MM's documentaries on there.

This might be useful for more info, too: diabetes.co.uk/news/2016/oc...

ShadowDee ,

Have you talked with your husband’s doctor about the meals/snacks and carbs. he needs? Is he on any medication? Is he on insulin shots with medication?

He is on medication at the moment and seeing the doctor this week. Apparently there is a team that will discuss all this. I'm hoping I can join in as I am the main chef in the house.

Hi blood sugar was reading 21 last week and is going to see if there's a significant change this week.

Are they setting you up with an Endocrinologist for your husband? You can be allowed to attend the appointment since you are his wife and he will want you there. Tell the doctor that you are going to stay.

Have you ever saw the documentary called Betrayal or autoimmunity secrets?

I haven’t, I prefer reading health related information, so I can print it if it’s good. 📙

I'll ask him tonight when he picks me up. He's off work for 1 more week. With his blood pressure still high and now his sugar level going way up.
