Help, where do I start??? My doctor just throws yet another pill at me. There has to be a common connection to all of these maladies. Anyone have a suggestion.

hmmm I read that fructose was not good for gout sufferers but I rarely eat anything with fructose or packaged foods. I do have fresh fruit and I make my own sour dough bread with quinoa and haven't given that up yet. Also non drinker and not much red meat. So I'm discouraged and running out of life. Doctors are no help.

Hi, I have Fibro but have a very supportive GP. I know having various conditions can be disheartening especially when your in constant pain. Has your doctor referred you to a pain clinic. Have you attended a pain management course via the pain clinic, I found this very helpful.

Hi LucindaLinda

Sorry to hear that you are suffering so many illness. My husband suffers from Gout and he too hates the amount of pills. So we looked for alternative remedies and eventually found one that really worked for him. It is Cherry Active and can be bought in Holland & Barrett and some local Health Food Stores as Concentrate or tablet form. It is also good for Fibromyalgia and arthritis suffers and we found it helped aid his sleeping. He just puts 30ml dose of the concentrate in along with his yoghurt each morning and has found he's not taking as many prescribed pills.

I've put a couple of links below for you to have a wee look at and hope you find this helpful.

All the best Auds5

I just bought a cherry/turmeric/ginger tonic that I will start when I get back from my sisters memorial next week. Turmeric has a tendency to upset my digestive system so I don't want to start it when I'm away from home. Thank you so much for the web site info, I will look into it also when I return home.

Have you asked to see a dietician? With diabetes it should be mandatory but all too often we need to ask for referrals 😕 They really are the experts, and I truly believe we are what we eat 😊 By the sounds of it you are already eating well but they could maybe suggest a tweak or two that may help 😊 Good luck

hi, sorry you are having a rough time.

Have you had your thyroid/ B12/Folate checked in the last year? Low B12 can be caused by Pernicious anaemia [auto-immune disease] which can cause brain fog. Another cause of low B12 could be PPI meds.....don't know if you are on these?? Guess you have regular blood tests because of the diabetes.

I've had my thyroid checked it's low normal? so the doc won't address it. I'm not anemic and I do have a A1C test every six months and the doc put me on a drug that my body would not tolerate so I quit taking it. I have an appointment next month again but it seems futile since I no longer feel she will do anything to help me other than refill the prescriptions she has given me for high BP and depression. I'm desperately trying to loose weight but it's very slow coming off and I just turned 72, so it's not as if I have much life left to fight this battle, I've run out of energy.

Might be an idea to have your thyroid levels checked TSH, FT3 and FT4

Do you have your thyroid results? Some of your problems are linked to low levels. You could post over on the thyroiduk forum, see what the knowledgeable members over there can tell you. They are a fount of information on thyroid problems :)
