I’ve had type one diabetes for 43 years and it’s in good control after many years of struggle. Now been diagnosed with PBC. How will this affect my control?

Hi Catanddogwoman I’m sorry you have had this diagnosis on top of your type 1 diabetes. However none of us on this website are medical professionals qualified in this area, some people who have had similar experiences may be able to give you peer support but for specific advice you would need to speak to your doctor/consultant and maybe ask for a registered dietician referral. Best wishes 🙂

Hi Catanddogwoman firstly welcome to our friendly forum, I don't know how PBC will affect your type 1 diabetes except you will have to be even more mindful of what you do eat.

Here's a couple of links that may interest you, please see:

nhs.uk/conditions/primary-b...

diabetes.co.uk/body/liver-a...

I wish you well and of you want any specific recipes then please ask as you are in great company for all things healthy eating.

Jerry 😊
