Using on-line weight loss/eating healthy websites can be a little easier than going to an off-line type of support group since it's in a person's home. My Grandfather was a member of Overeaters Anonyomous years ago. It helped a little bit, but not as much.
Congratulations on the progress you've made so far with the meals and cutting some of the sugar. Keep up the great job!
I used to have sugar cravings, which I curbed by taking chelated magnesium.
I still eat sugar, but mostly from fresh & dried fruit. I'll occasionally have a small binge, but try to swap sweets for something healthier like medjool dates that are high in minerals & are low GI, despite the sugar content, or dried mango. Dark chocolate of the >70% solid cocoa type is also a nutritious swap. I opt for quality rather than quantity & usually make a bar of the good stuff last a week.
Glad you've posted here in the Healthy Eating forum, and wishing you a Warm Welcome.
I used to eat a lot of sugary things - but I now try to cook my cakes without any added sugar, and I no longer have sugar in my tea and coffee - I have found that my taste buds have literally adapted and I just don't need that added sugar anymore.
I enjoy the sugary flavours of natural fruits, and I do have dried fruits in my cake, and I savour the taste that way.
Well done for your new eating regime, and wishing you continued success with it.
