Would you recommend raw or gelatinized maca root powder? What reasons would you buy one over the other?
Maca Root Powder: Would you recommend raw or... - Healthy Eating
Maca Root Powder
Hello ccjmj. I've just looked up maca root powder and can't see anything wrong with it. All it seems to do is replace vitamins which are not present in the food you are eating already. If you have a diet of normal food which is as near to how it is harvested, then I can't see that you need supplements. There are instances where the soil lacks certain minerals one of those being selenium which we need as a trace element. However if you are drinking whole full cream milk, unpasteurised if possible, butter, eggs, cheese, wholemeal bread, fruit vegetables with a moderate amount of fish and meat, you certainly won't need to go buying these extras. Remember that the people who sell it are doing it as a business and will present it as a benefit that you must have.
I leave you to decide. Tibbly
Thanks for the reply. I've heard raw milk has amazing benefits and is better for you than pasteurized. I think pasteurized is detrimental to health as well. I wouldn't drink it nor recommend anyone else drink it.
It was refreshing to hear what you say about raw milk. Pasteurisation reduces the level of the B vitamins by about 10% and skimming removes vitamins A, E, D, & K. We find that raw milk refrigerated at about 3° C will keep for eight or nine days without any change. We get a week's supply every Saturday. Tibbly
Are you going to use the root powder as part of a LCHF diet?
