Most of the pasta that I can buy is made from white Duram wheat. I have tried some made from wholemeal wheat flour - but it was terrible!! Any ideas about how an Italian food lover can still have pasta "healthily"

Wholemeal pasta???
But what LOW GI pasta? as I said the whole wheat stuff was horrible
Hi Bazza1234 ,
In what way was the wholemeal pasta 'terrible' - I'm just wondering what you didn't like about it - i.e. the texture, the taste, or something else? Maybe there might be another variety/brand that you might find more palatable?

Have you tried Dove Farm brown rice spaghetti? It's very good and my family had no idea I had substituted this for their usual pasta. I buy it from Sainsbury's. I don't know where you live so I don't know if this is helpful.
Try cooling it, & eating it warm the next day, so some of the starch has been converted to resistant starch. It's good for gut bacteria, & doesn't cause the same insulin spikes as fresh cooked pasta.
You might find a different brand of wholemeal more edible. There's also a lot of different types of noodles, such as buckwheat, which isn't a grain, or rice noodles. If it's for weight loss, try konjac noodles.
Hi I new on this site. Can anyone advise me on portion size for pasta. I'm 4" 11. and 79.5 kg which is about 12 stone shocking !!!!!! My weight isn't coming off even though I have eaten healthily for months. I'm trying to weigh my carbs now. I have allowed half cup dry brown rice or pasta, for dinner, 1/4 cup porrige for breakfast, one wholemeal roll for lunch. I have tried cutting out carbs before but can't keep it up and end up eaten sweets, chocolate or cake. I need someone to tell me portion size tailored for petite women.
