Morning All

I have joined this group to see if anyone is suffering the same way I am.

I have severe upper abdominal pain all the time.Eating or drinking .Eating or drinking cold food hurt my stomach.

I have had a private scan which showed nothing and am having a private blood test for Gluten Intolerance.

I had my gallbladder out in march this year.

I am taking 2 x 30mg cocodomol 4 times a day and that still doesn't take all the pain away.

I wake up fine then within half an hour of standing up the pain starts all over again.

I've been to a&e twice this week the first time I saw the out of hours doctor who prescient buscapan, I wanted to scream as I new that would do nothing. The second time I waited nearly 2 hours to see triage then 4 hours later was told there would be a 10 hour wait so I gave up and came home and took 4 cocodomol for the agonising pain.

Getting an appointment at the doctors is a joke as they don't consider this an emergency and they don't have any routine appointments to offer me.

What do I do as I cannot go on like this any more.

Hello there, If you haven,t already looked quite a few people on the B.L.T ( British liver trust site) have had gallbladder issues. It may be worth you having a read through and post there also. Often pain in these areas can be due to swelling, mine is due to my swollen liver causing me pain in my abdomen, pushing on my pancreas, right hand upper quad, and so on. I was on slow release morphine 30mg twice daily, but it was a struggle getting Doctors to understand the pain in the beginning, I had to change to another practice. Have you phoned the secretary of the consultant who did the operation for their opinion? But you need this investigated, I,d go to A and E again and really emphasize your symptoms. As I understand it ( from liver site ) bile duct problems such as them being accidently cut are just one of many post op issues that can arise. You should not be left in pain. I eat an anti.inflammatory diet for the long term and take good probiotics which helps enormously, but for now check out the B.L.T forum also and try typing in gallbladder removed abdomen pain into your search engine. Best wishes. anne.

Good Afternoon

Thank you for your kind response which is very helpful.

Amazingly I managed to get an out of hours doctors appointment today and they have given me tramadol and omeprazole.

Typing this message it has taken the edge of the pain for the moment which is such a relief.

The doctor suggested I speak to my normal doctors practice on Monday and ask them if they can refer to a gastro specialist with a view to other explanatory areas.

All I can do is keep trying and hope someone finally listens to me.

I will definitely give the surgeons secretary a call but I worry that they may say that I would of had pain straight away in March and not as late as November, anyway its worth a try as I want to get back to a pain free normal life again and not worry constantly about when the pain is going to attack and what I should and shouldn't eat, saying that I'm hardly eating anything at the moment as it worries what will and wont cause the pain.

Once again thank you so much for your support I'm just glad someone got in touch.

Take care. xx
