5 days "cold turkey" does it for me! The less I have the less I want, but its still easy to relapse. If you need something sweet I would go for some fruit-based as you don't get the blood sugar spike as strongly. Have you heard of fruitpeelers? They are in the kids dried fruit section and are awesome!! Dont go for ones that are like jelly sweets the more like fruit it is the better. Urban Fruit dried/baked strawberries are to die for, but go easy as they are still quite high in calories, I weigh/calculate everything now.

all food are having sugar, consult dr.for sugar medicine and start taking siljeet which will curve sugar

Lat January I did a one-month diet to rebuild my immune system, which excluded all grains and carbohydrates, as well as all sugar. After the diet I could not bring myself to eat anything with gluten in it because I had felt so well during that month but found that every time I introduced (wholemeal) pasta or bread I would feel full and bloated again. After two further months of increased well-being on a self-prescribed gluten-free diet I went to my GP to have the tests: he said I needed to go back to a gluten diet (consume as much as I used to before my initial diet) for two weeks before I could be tested. I fearfully held on for a few days but gave in finally and I was amazed to notice how aggressively my sugar pangs returned. I crept to the ladder at night to steal my boys' Easter eggs supplies, I devoured two-year-old sweets found at the back of the car, all melted and disgusting looking, I had cake at every opportunity: I could not help myself! It took me three weeks to slowly wean myself back to a healthy state. Luckily my gluten tests were negative for coeliac disease but positive for wheat intolerance. This is wonderful as I love oats, barley, rye bread etc and cannot afford to maintain a gluten-free diet on my present income... long story but true: After a lifetime of suffering from sugar cravings and indigestion, a wheat-free diet has completely curved the cravings and tummy trouble. I eat fresh fruit or dried fruit (sparingly) but find that a wholesome diet of good grains, oily fish, good quality meat (twice a week) and plenty of fresh vegetables keeps me full and happy, without mood swings or cravings. I also eat lots of nuts and seeds as snacks (instead of greasy crisps or chocolate). Hope you find your way through to victory! Best wishes.

When I have a massive sweet craving I opt for fruit such as apples, frozen berries or dried dates. I also like dried fruit rolls such as 'Yo-Yo' 's which are fruit roll ups that come in packs of 2 with approx. 5g of natural sugar in each (it is purely fruit and one roll is one of your 5 a day!). They come in strawberry, raspberry, blueberry, apple, mango and pineapple so there's lots to choose from and one roll usually does the trick for me. As I'm hypoglycemic I must stay away from all those oh so tempting refined sugars so have learnt many ways to combat the craving..! I also like dark chocolate instead of your average milk chocolate (about 85% cocoa, which is also an antioxidant! but careful on portion size!). Hot milk with a teaspoon or two of agave syrup (which is a natural sweetener and low gi) or honey also works for me, or try options hot chocolate which are low in calories, fat and sugars but tastes the same as any other with 3x as much of each! :) Hope this helps!!xx

Eat everything in moderation, and maintain self-discipline, I guess we could have that healthy lifestyle we want.
