I have bipolar and drink a lot of water because of my tablets. I also drink more when it is hot and sunny. Is there a diet and exercise programme I could follow?

I started NHS 12 week plan last Monday and use My fittness all app it has not been easy but nearly through one week.I have gone over allowance but I know I would have eaten even more if I had not looked at what I eating. Drinking water I am sure helps try putting a slice of lemon in it. Good luck!

I too am bipolar on seroquell and remoron plus valproate, the seroquell alone can cause a dry mouth as a side affect and so can the remeron. Knowing what I do about psychotics being notorious for increasing ones weight I asked myself first "am I stable enough at the moment?" could I ask my P doctor if he would consider reducing the dosage? if those two things checked out OK then I would give it up to a period of 2-3 months to see if weight was coming off or remaining the same if it was remaining the same do as I did and ask your GP to refer you to a dietitian as they and they alone can set you on the course of a good diet.
