Feeling dissociated all the time with intrusive thoughts and ocd. Severe depression and panic attacks. Suicidal thoughts. All occurred after I was hit by a car in childhood. This is my life everyday . Have trouble communicating and concentration and doing tasks. Have mild agoraphobia also. I feel sad and tearful alot.I am sorry for going on for so long but I hope everyone is doing ok.

No need to apologise, sounds totally awful and exhausting. You must have had to use up so much energy and reserves over the last 40 years. What support do you have around you? This is such a lot for you to take on. I do recommend calling the Samaritans when you want someone to talk to, as they are around 24/7. Sometimes it can be helpful to talk to people you don’t know. Well done for your bravery and keeping going.
I’m sorry you’re going through this. I’m not a doctor or anything but after many years of struggling myself after a TBI, I’m now being treated for PTSD. From what I’m reading about your experiences, perhaps this is something you could investigate. The thing with ptsd is that it can develop over a long time and doesn’t really go away unless it is addressed and can accumulate over the years if there are other traumatic events on top of the original event.
Please seek help via your local NHS talking therapies service as they should have therapies specific to ptsd. There are ways to feel better and combat this - it’s complex but it revolves around feeling safe and from the sounds of it, having a car accident as a child, when you’re really at your most vulnerable, could lead to ptsd. As I say, I’m not a doctor or psychologist, but having read up alot and having treatment has really made me realise stuff about my own life and traumatic events.
For everyone on here, I recommend the book The Body Keeps The Score by Bessel van der Kolk. As a holistic massage therapist, I had heard of this book in my professional circle but didn’t get to it until now several years later - because of my accident. The therapist I’m seeing trained with Bessel.
I just read some of your other posts Onedayok, and I see you’re having balance dizziness issues annd agoraphobia, and a whole bunch of other symptoms that sound like ptsd. As I say, I’m no medic but really worth investigating I think. Message me if you’d like details of the person I’ve been seeing who is helping me so much.
hi one day .. I think trees has said everything that I would also think .. I’ve also had PTSD prior to my accident which I got counselling for .. counselling has helped me so much though my life and now .. it you don’t get on with the first one you see then try another as they are also only human and we relate to some people better than others .. they aren’t a miracle cure , they don’t make things disappear , what they do is help you to deal with anything .by helping you put the piles of paper work ( in your head) in order on your desk( your brain) so you can looks at them , address them and file it away in order ( that’s my take on it .. as a messy desk is impossible to sort out 😊) if you under that ( I’m not good at explaining )
The short version is get help even if you are put on a ridiculous waiting list as it very much can help ..Sue 😊
