Popping by to say hi...

It has been more than a minute (understatement) since I was last here. I got a new computer and although everything is in the old one, I still haven't figured out how to merge the two so I lost track...

Anyhow thought I would drop by to say hello. Can't believe I am now 18 years post accident - it seems like both a million years ago and like yesterday all at the same time. Life trundles on day by day...I am always surprised when I realise how much time has passed but we are used to life part two now and there is something to be said for living in the moment.

I see that a couple of the old gang are still around (Cat in particular) and hope everyone is doing okay.

Might be a while before I remember to pop back in but hi and hello anyway.

I’m doing ok thank you .. it’s been a year of experience for me .. 3 years of denial that I had no idea I had and a tough 12 months but it’s this place that’s kept me going 😁

Hello lovely lady ; what a nice surprise seeing your username come up !

I'm the same with tech. I can get along fine with familiar stuff, but new systems / devices and I'm like a duck in a thunderstorm.

18 years 😲. . . it's now almost 13 for me. As you say, iforget, it seems in the distant past, but like yesterday.

I got an email to say there was a response from you (very handy...has it always been so, unsurprisingly I don't remember) so I am back quicker than either of us expected LOL

How are things in your world these days?

I think we are now fully adjusted to life part two and for the most part things run fairly smoothly with the gadgets, gizmos and strategies all ingrained. Sometimes there is a glitch but we are more able to laugh it off.

Someone recently asked me "what did you used to be?" I had no idea how to answer that...even though of course I know what I used to do prior to my humpty dumpty. Occasionally I miss the old me and I wonder if that will ever stop? Anyone know?

Yikes I do not care for the louds bangs outside. I'm off to hide

Oh you've had the fireworks too. In my day Halloween and fireworks weren't related ; fireworks were for Nov 5th ? 🤨

Yes, iforget, I always get email notifications of replies, as I did just now with your reply.

I've adapted OK-ish but still occasionally lament my former life and the ability to tolerate crowds/challenging discussions and noisy environments. I guess so long as we're compos mentis we're bound to look back & compare.

My main setback right now isn't brain related. I had a bad fall in march 2022 and first available slots for knee replacement aren't 'til mid 2025. So I wait and 'potter' in the meantime.

I hope things continue to run 'fairly smoothly' for you for the foreseeable future m'dear. . . .

Sorry to hear you've been in the wars and have fallen foul of the dreaded waiting lists.. Hope you won't have to wait too much longer. 🤞

but also Snap! I had an accident in March 2023 too - slammed into a brick wall trying not to fall over after I tripped going down a hill - and ended up sustaining a fracture dislocation of my right shoulder and a broken elbow. 🙄 Luckily I remember none of it of course. I am told it weas pretty traumatic. I guess amnesia has its upsides sometimes 😁

What a pair of liabilities ! Sorry to learn you also suffered nasty injuries from contact with a hard surface ; mine was a large knobbly rockery stone !🙄
